How to Nourish Your Artistry and Embody Your Creative Spirit
Phoebe is joined by actor, teacher, and creative mentor Kate Bone, founder of Wonderwell, an interdisciplinary creative studio and community focusing on the intersection of creativity and well-being.
Kate shares her journey through the performing arts and how the need to share creative embodiment in a communal space led to the creation of Wonderwell and the WonderBody Studio.
Key moments and takeaways:
✿ “Embodiment practices are things that we do that make us and help us to feel like ourselves”
✿ “We can’t just expect ourselves to just keep creating without any input; we have to keep putting ourselves in places of wonder and awe, openness, expansion. We need to fill the well.”
✿ Our prevalent culture doesn’t encourage creative pursuits, so we have to make space and advocate for ourselves to bring artistic outlets into our lives.
✿ Art is an abundant market and there’s a need for more artists in the world. There’s plenty of space and resources for us to choose art as a career.
✿ On raising our prices when it feels necessary: “You have to ask for what you need and you have to have equal energetic exchange in what you’re doing in order to survive as a business.”
